tls_disable = If SSL is disabled TLS encryption is the default, unless this is enabled. If enabled and SSL is disabled, no encryption will be used to send email.
use_html = Send a structured HTML alternative (in addition to plain text) so screen readers get clear pauses between status lines.
smtpauth_disable = If enabled, ignore SMTP authentication. Typically only used for locally administered SMTP servers
sitename = Site Name
port = Serial device name of your serial port. Normally  /dev/serial0 or /dev/ttyAMA0 for onboard Raspberry Pi Serial ports
incoming_mail_folder = The name of the folder in the mailbox for searching for incoming email commands
processed_mail_folder = Once an email command has been processed by the software the email is moved to this mailbox folder
server_port = The TCP port used internally by genmon for communicating with the supporting applications. Some apps may not work without modification if this is changed.
address = The Modbus slave address in hexadecimal. This value is 9d for Evolution / Nexus, and typically 64 for industrial generators.
response_address = Only used for Pre Nexus 2008 Generac controllers. Should be 41 if Pre-Nexus controller is present.
loglocation = Location of log files. Full path must be specified.
userdatalocation = Location of user defined JSON data (userdefined.json) to be displayed on Monitor page. Full path must be specified.
enabledebug = Enable code to support reverse engineering of registers. This option, when enabled creates a thread that will monitor registers in the controller and send notifications to the developer of changed registers. Not used in normal operation.
ignore_unknown = Ignore unknown values for modbus register 0001 for Evolution 2.0
alternate_date_format = Use dd/mm/yyyy for date format instead of mm/dd/yyyy where applicable
displayunknown = Display the contents of additional data that appear to be associated with an unknown modbus register or a calculated value not included with the default genmon data set. 
uselegacysetexercise = Enable using and alternate method for writing the exercise time. Not used in normal operation. The software will auto-detect when this needs to be enabled but this setting overrides the auto-detect.
disableoutagecheck = If enabled and supported by the controller, this setting will disable the monitoring and notification of the utility line voltage for detecting power outages. If you have a 'smart' transfer switch, this may need to be enabled. For Evo/Nexus this is typically disabled. For Briggs an Stratton, if enabled this will disable the display of the Utility line information for off-grid mode.
industrialoutagecheck = For H-100, this can be enabled if your aux connections are setup properly. For H-100, if enabled, this will notify of an outage when the aux inputs show that the transfer switch is set to 'generator' instead of 'utility'.
liquidcooled = The software will auto-detect the cooling type. The auto-detect can be overridden with this setting. Enable for liquid cooled, disable or air cooled.
evolutioncontroller = The software will auto-detect the controller type. The auto-detect can be overridden with this setting. Enable for Evolution controller, disable for Nexus Controller.
petroleumfuel = Only valid for liquid cooled Evolution generators. Enable if your generator uses diesel or gasoline, disable if you use propane or natural gas. This value is used to change how status relays are displayed.
outagelog = Full path and file name of the power outage log.
outage_notice_delay = The delay in seconds between a detected loss in utility voltage and a notification of an outage. This value must be an integer.
outage_notice_interval = To enable recurring outage notices set this to a positive non zero integer value. This represents the number of minutes to send a recurring outage notice.
syncdst = Enable to sync the generator time to the system time if there is a change in Daylight Savings Time. This does not change the system time, only the generator time.
synctime = Enables syncing the generator time to the system time once every hour. This does not change the system time, only the generator time.
enhancedexercise = Enable the functionality to support biweekly and monthly exercise times (weekly is the default). Note, your generator controller must support this before enabling this option. Evolution only and firmware version dependent.
usehttps = HTTPS (secure HTTP) and / or user name and password authentication.
cert_mode = Certificate mode for HTTPS. 'selfsigned' generates a temporary certificate on each restart (browser will show a warning). 'localca' creates a persistent local CA you can import into your browser for a trusted connection. 'custom' lets you supply your own certificate and key files.
keyfile = Path and filename of the key file for your own certificate (cert_mode = custom).
certfile = Path and filename of the certificate file for your own certificate (cert_mode = custom).
http_user = Simple authentication will be used. Sets the username of the simple authentication. Leave blank to disable. 'Use Secure Web Settings' must be enabled to use this feature.
http_pass = Simple authentication will be used. Sets the password of the simple authentication. Leave blank to disable. 'Use Secure Web Settings' must be enabled to use this feature.
http_user_ro = Sets the username of the limited rights user. Leave blank to disable. 'Use Secure Web Settings' and full rights user must be enabled to use this feature.

http_port = HTTP port to be used by the web server.
https_port = Port to override the secure web server port (https). The default value is 443.
favicon = favicon for website. This is an optional parameter and default is "favicon.ico". This may not work in older browsers
system_theme = Use the browser-provided light/dark theme setting in the UI, and remove the manual theme switcher. This may not work in older brwsers
usemfa = Use Multi-Factor Authentication. You must use a Multi-Factor Authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy to use this feature. If enabled, MFA will apply to both normal and limited rights login.
kwlogmax = Override the maximum size of the kW log. The default is 15MB.
max_powerlog_entries = The maximum number of entries in the working power log. Note the log file will not be truncated until the maximum file size is reached. In most cases the default is the preferred value.
kwlog = Full path to override the default kW log. If this option is present but empty the kW log will be disabled.
enable_fuel_log = If enabled, the fuel level will be logged to a file periodically if the fuel level changes. The default filename is /etc/genmon/fuellog.txt
fuel_log_freq = The frequency in minutes to log the fuel level to a file.
fuel_log = The full path and file name of the fuel log
currentdivider = This is a value to override the divisor used to calculate the current for Evolution units. This value is expressed in floating point. Leave blank to use the default value.
currentoffset = This value provides an offset to compensate for mis-calibrated current transformers in Evolution generators. This may need to be used if you you see a negative current value displayed for Evolution Air Cooled Generators. The default value is zero. Leave blank to use the default value.
legacy_power = If enabled this will allow the use of the older method to calculate current / power for Evolution Air Cooled controllers
disableplatformstats = If enabled, platform statistics will not be displayed in the user interface
optimizeforslowercpu = If enabled, minor optimizations for slower CPUs will be used. Note that this is a design trade off for responsiveness vs CPU utilization.
disableweather= Enable the weather feature. Requires an OpenWeatherMap API key and location to be configured.
weatherkey = Openweathermap.org API Key. This is required to enable weather reporting. See https://openweathermap.org/appid. Requires openweathermap library. If you installed the Generator Monitor Software before V1.9.6 and are upgrading you must run this command: "sudo pip install pyowm" from the console before the weather features will be functional
weatherlocation = The location to report weather. Either enter City,State,Country or a openweathermap.org city ID. Automatic lookup of location requires location services to be enabled in your browser, a https connection, and a valid API key.
metricweather = If enabled, metric units will be displayed when applicable.
minimumweatherinfo = If enabled the minimum information regarding the weather will be displayed, otherwise the maximum info will be displayed
readonlyemailcommands= If enabled, email commands that write to the controller will be disabled (settime, setexercise, setremote, etc.)
nominalfrequency = Frequency your generator is running. Either 50Hz or 60Hz. This is used by the web interface.
nominalRPM = The RPM of your generator. Typically 1800 or 3600 for 60Hz and 1500 or 3000 for 50Hz. Some models run at 2300. This is used by the web interface.
nominalKW = The maximum kilowatt output of your generator. This is used by the web interface.
fueltype = The type of fuel used by your generator (Natural Gas, Propane, Diesel, Gasoline). This value is used by for displaying the correct information to the user.
tanksize = Fuel tank size. Units is gallons unless "Use Metric Units" is enabled, then it is in liters. This is used to estimate the fuel remaining the tank. Ignore for Natural Gas or tankless installations. If external tank sensors are used via an add on then this setting can be used if all tanks are the same size, then set this to the the total capacity of all tanks (sum of all tanks size).
usesensorforfuelgauge = Use fuel sensor instead of estimated fuel usage for fuel gauge
model = The model of your generator as detected by the software
voltageconfiguration = The voltage configuration of the industrial generator.
nominalbattery = 12 for one battery, 24 for two batteries
controllertype = Set to h_100 for H-100 mode or powerzone for PowerZone or custom to use an imported controller configuration, otherwise the software will default to Nexus/Evolution Mode
import_config_file = Only used for custom controller type. Select the controller configuration to use for the custom controller type. See the project wiki for more info on custom controller support
ignore_alarms= Only used for custom controller type. List the exact text description for alarms that should be ignored separated by commas if multiple alarms are ignored.
phase = Set the phase of the controller for genmon's use. This value is used only by genmon. It does not set the phase of the controller, but tells genmon the phase of the generator (e.g. 1 for single phase, 3 for three phase). For most controllers this value is ignored, however some custom config based controllers, like MEBAY can set this value based on the controller configuration.
threephaseutilitycompensation = If enabled, the Utility Voltage will not be divided by 2 for three phase Evolution Air Cooled systems.
autofeedback = If enabled, an email will be sent to the software maintainer if critical data is missing in the software for your generator. The email will contain the contents of the generator registers. Enabling this option helps support the widest possible set of features and supported generators.
update_check = If enabled the software will send an email notice when a software update is available.
use_serial_tcp = If enabled, the software will use TCP over serial instead of direct serial communications
serial_tcp_address = If Serial over TCP/IP is enabled, this parameter sets the IP address (or fully qualified domain name) used for the serial server.
serial_tcp_port = If Serial over TCP/IP is enabled, this parameter sets the IP port used for the serial server.
serial_tcp_keepalive = If enabled, the TCP connection will set the keep alive flag within the TCP protocol.
modbus_tcp = If enabled, the modbus TCP protocol will be used. If disabled modbus RTU (serial) over TCP is used.
use_modbus_fc4 = Use modbus function code 4 instead of 3 for reading modbus registers. This is only needed for controllers that do not support function code 3.
hts_transfer_switch=Enable if you have a HTS, MTS or STS transfer switch to enable reading additional data from the transfer switch
smart_transfer_switch = If enabled a smart transfer switch is utilized and the generator controller will not be responsible for starting and stopping or or weekly exercise functions and these items will be disabled in the web interface.
serialnumberifmissing= If the serial number is not present due to the controller being replaced you can override the missing serial number and still have the software lookup model information. This is a numeric value that must be ten digits. Pad leading zeros if you serial number is less than 10 digits.
additionalrunhours= Nexus controllers (not Evolution) do not have the ability to set the run hours. If your controller has been replaced you can use this entry to add hours to the Run Hours reported by the in the UI. Note: If this option is used it will only modify the run hours displayed in the web interface. It will not affect the controllers internal maintenance counters. This value must be a numeric value.
additional_modbus_timeout=Add this value (in seconds) to the modbus timeout value. Floating point value.
modbus_between_frame_delay=This value will add a delay between modbus requests. For most controllers this value should be zero (disabled). This is a floating point value. To add a 10 mS delay use the value 0.01. Values above 0.2 may cause very slow performance.
watchdog_addition=Additional delay before a communication timeout notification
disablepowerlog=Enable to disable the power log and current reading. Not supported on Nexus.
disablesensorlog = If enabled, the logging of sensor data will be disabled. This also disbles the graphs of sensors in the web interface.
sensorlogmax = Override the maximum size of each sensor log. The default is 5MB.
max_sensorlog_entries = The maximum number of entries in each sensor log. Note the log file will not be truncated until the maximum file size is reached. In most cases the default is the preferred value.
estimated_load=The percent load (expresses a a decimal value i.e. .5 = 50 percent) used when estimating the run hours left until the tank is empty.
subtractfuel=The amount of fuel (gal or L, depending on 'Use Metric' setting) to subtract from the fuel in tank estimate
half_rate=The unit of fuel for Half and Full Rate parameters. Use this fuel consumption stats for non Evolution units or to override the fuel consumption defaults for Evolution controllers.
full_rate=The number of units of fuel consumed by your generator at a full load. Use this fuel consumption stats for non Evolution units or to override the fuel consumption defaults for Evolution controllers.
fuel_units=The unit of the Half and Full consumption rate. Use this fuel consumption stats for non Evolution units or to override the fuel consumption defaults for Evolution controllers.
user_url=A user defined URL link to include in status emails sent from the software when the generator status changes
usenominallinevolts = Enable overriding of the default of 240V for nominal line voltage in the UI
nominallinevolts = Override nominal line voltage value for UI (i.e. 220, 230 in stead of 240)
nexus_legacy_freq = If enabled, the software will use the older method for reading the frequency for Nexus Liquid models. If your Nexus controller is not reporting the frequency correctly, try changing this value.
extend_wait = Number of additional seconds to wait to retry sending failed emails.
min_outage_duration = Outages less than this time in seconds will not be logged. Notifications will still be sent if enabled.
multi_instance = If Enabled this setting will allow multiple instances of genmon to be used on one system. Note that other settings will also need to be changed. See the wiki for additional details.
usecalculatedpower=Calculate power output from power factor, average current and average voltage
uselinuxwifisignalgauge=if enabled and running linux the WiFi signal will be displayed on a gauge in the web interface. Note, the gauge will not show if you are using Ethernet for your network.
wifiispercent=Some Linux wifi drivers (like USB wifi adapters) may return a percentage instead of a raw signal strength. If your wifi gauge is not working as expected, try enabling this setting. Note, the built in raspberry pi driver returns signal strength, not percentage so if using the on board adapter this setting should be disabled.
preferred_network_adapter=If genmon failes to identify your network adapter correctly in cases where multiple adapaters are present, set this value to the adapater name that you would like genmon to report as the active network device. Note: only WLAN adapters display statistics.
useraspberrypicputempgauge=If enabled and running on a Linux system, the CPU temperature will be displayed on a gauge in the web interface.
max_login_attempts=The maximum number of failed login attempts to the web interface before a temporary lockout is started. A lockout will prevent any login attempts. If the login failures occur within the time frame of lockout duration then then logins will be blocked for the number of seconds of lockout duration. Set to zero to disable.
login_lockout_seconds=The number of seconds to perform a lockout if failed logins exceed Maximum Login Attempts. For example if this value is 300 seconds (5 min) and max attempt is 5, then if 5 logins failures occur in a row within 5 minutes, the a lockout will occur for 5 minutes.
remember_me_days=Number of days the browser remembers your login when you check "Remember me". Set to 0 for a browser-session only — your login expires as soon as you close the browser.
serial_parity=The default for Generac is None. Some (Briggs and Stratton uses Odd) custom controllers may use Odd or Even parity. Note: this is only for direct serial, not for serial over TCP.
serial_rate=The rate of the serial link used to communicate with the controller. In almost all cases this is 9600. Evolution 4.5L models may use 115200 for this value.
forceserialuse=If enabled, the software will try continue attempt use the serial port even if it is not found when the software is initially loaded. This may be needed for some serial USB devices.
unbalanced_capacity=Disabled if zero. If non zero this will be the maximum allowable difference in the load on a generator leg, represented as a percent of the maximum load. A value of 0.50 (50%) would be an allowable difference of 100 amps between legs on a 200 amp rated generator. Lower values will be the most strict threshold. Higher values will be less strict. Valid values are 0 - 0.50. Unbalanced capacity notices are set via a warning email, once per day.
