Sideband, Columba, and MeshChat connect via TCP Client Interface on port 4242.
Tune to an active frequency (7.078 JS8Call, 14.074 FT8) to verify audio path. Target: -10 to -5 dB on incoming signals. Noise floor at -30 to -60 dB is normal.
Controls modem output level. Adjust based on radio ALC meter.
Adjust based on band conditions. Lower modes are more robust but slower.
Important: All stations must use the same mode to communicate. Coordinate with other operators before changing. Modem will restart when mode is changed.
